About me and where I am starting from...
I am 41 years old and a mother of two beautiful girls B - 5 1/2 and A- 1 1/2 - they are my lights. Last year was a very challenging year for me and my family. My dear sweet baby A had many lung issues that found her admitted in the hospital two different times, multiple emergency room visits, two ambulance rides and diagnosis of asthma, croup, bronchilitis,  and pneumonia. Poor sweet thing was such a trooper and I have new respect for the parents of patients, especially little patients, the worry and fear for the health of your child is tremendous. I spent oodles of money on breathing machines and steroids and inhalers. I missed many days of work and used all of my sick time while trying to heal my sweet girl. In addition to her illnesses my mom, Eldora, was battling ocular melanoma - a rare type of melanoma. We are encouraged when after having radiation sewn on her eye ball that the tumor was shrinking but what we didn't know was that the melanoma had traveled to her liver and beyond. Most of her body was diseased with melanoma - and when we found out it was too late to try anything - she lived 4 weeks and passed away peacefully. Lastly I was diagnosed with a spindle cell on my muscle. I was told that if I didn't have it removed I would most likely not make it five years. This is when I started changing my diet. I heard the word inflamed more then once and so I started researching and created a diet that would reduce inflammation and it worked to the surprise of my surgeon my spindle cell shrank. In addition health wise I felt great and I lost weight. I spent the summer healing and mourning the loss of my mom and put on 10 of the 20 pounds that I had lost and my diet slipped but I still stayed away from dairy and almost all meat. So here I am today and I have had an inspiration - a calling - I am going to take courses in nutrition, holistic wellness and become a wellness coach. I am so very excited about this and I am planning on documenting this journey - and include how my life changes and my health improves through my learning.

  2. I'm interested in learning about your diet--do you recommend any resources? I heard inflammation from my midwife so many times during my pregnancy when she talked about nutrition. I'm looking into it for myself now.
